Hm, almost a year
since my last post:> Let’s see how long it will take next …

Erm … I guess I am back;)
So … difficult to start after such a long period. Several times I promised several people to write and obviously I failed .. several times;). Then I was kind of determined I would post but I realised I forgot what was the URL of the log in site.
Today, I managed. Looking at Con Brio I immediately decided it needed a change … in its own time tho.
What has been going on lately or in the last few months? Nothing special, apart from a lot of travelling and work.
What else? Some minor details:
- I am cold all the time;
- I am still smitten by my two nephews;
- I still like tango, but my dancing record for the last months is quite poor I must admit;
- I managed to cure my internet obsession - considerably less online;
- I still miss Brix and I would like to have a new dog;
- I am still planning to do a postdoc in Belgium and England despite the fact I failed to write an application this year duo to many many other more serious issues going on in my life;)
- I am rubbish at running lately - well for the last eight months at least;
- I cut my hair.
I guess this is all for now ….

Maybe just, that I am spending my eves at tango instead in front of the computer … which is quite beneficial for my eyes, I would imagine …

Is Con Brio dying?
I think not. But my friend says: blog starts to die when one posts very irregularly and one is only posting photos. Taking this seriously, Con Brio has started to die. But I strongly oppose.

Uses and Misuses of Con Brio
Blogs, apparently, have been turning into a quite powerful source of information and a means to give voice to practically any individual who wants to go ‘public’. Some become very popular for this and that reason (mostly for its content), some stay lost in the noise and are read only by a few of those who know/like/would like to know/are for some reason interested in the author.
Con Brio probs falls in the later category. Its content is certainly not such a kick to get someone ’signed up’ for their daily dose. I am quite happy like that as my aim is not to get mainstream and to drag the attention of the masses (otherwise I’d publish my naked picture;)), but to communicate to those who I consider as friends, colleagues, nice people who like to stop by even if we have never met before. The main purpose of this sometimes quite senseless writing is thus to keep them updated with whatsoever info I am willing to share.
Often, I am asked: ‘How come you post all this stuff about you UNDER YOUR REAL NAME? Are you at all aware of the consequences it can have? Everyone can read it!’.
My typical answer: ‘All I write can be shared. Or else I don’t write about it. I am happy that blog gives me the opportunity to share’. I already wrote once about this.
Well.
Usually, I only think of a friendly use of Con Brio –> mainly my friends and colleagues being kept informed, sharing pictures of places and people with them. I don’t think of misuses. What could a misuse be? Ok, obviously marketers quickly picked up the opportunity and are posting bizarre ads in the comments but luckily Askimet does the trick so no spam actually gets posted.
Otherwise I can’t really think of how someone would use my own blog against me. At least I could not until recently, when I was informed that someone took off one of my pictures and used it for fairly strange purposes.
It gave me quite a spooky feeling, almost a bit of a shiver I must admit. All of a sudden, I realised it just might be a good idea of actually starting to use ViewLevel plug-in.
Then I was thinking of publishing even more pictures to give a ‘full impression’;). Now, I’d like to find out, what was the drive, what was the intention? From purely anthropological perspective, of course;))

I don’t have a real title to this post, as it really is not going to be a post. It’s just reminding myself, how to post, so I would post sometime soon as I didn’t post for ages!
In the meantime, three important things happened:
- Jana got married!
- My blog was temporary unavailable as the server that hosted him died (Hvala, Skrat, za hitro in nesebicno ukrepanje, tvoj blog je se zmer down, tko da hurry up;)).
- I am back to Belgium and LLN.

Naked!
As seen, Con Brio got undressed a few days ago (=lost all its graphic appearance) as it has to get its cloths washed from time to time (=the server with the pics went down;)). Now, waiting for the laundry to get Con Brio its cloths back any time now (=asap the server is up again;)).

- didn’t know anyone upon arrival - have meet some very nice people;
- was hungry - left full of nice Luigi pizza;
- wasn’t familiar with almost any of the participants’ blogs - visited almost all and found them interesting.
