Crapy Crap Called MS Word

I am losing my mind. I need to work on fine-tuning and every time I open my thesis_nana.doc, word starts non-responding. I need to restart and again. Then I save the doc with another name and here we go again. I am *literally* not able to write anything in my PhD anymore. Further, word corrupts all my tables so that it transposes columns and rows and the doc get some five new pages ….

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr …

    Ubuntu / Kubuntu / OpenOffice.org ?

    Since you have a PC… Otherwise I’d say OS X all the way. ;)

    I know, Heck … just that I am a bit too late .. tho I am tempted to open the doc in OO and take it from there indeed;)

    Try with Open Office. This is why I have switched to OO a long time ago. MS Word sucks.

    Just try opening it with OOo, it can’t destroy your document anymore..

    MD and Jure: OO is a good option, but as i was writting in word with EndNote, I am afraid I wont be able to format my citations afterwards.

    But this Word is really crap — it has eaten up almost a day …

    As someone has already sed: LaTeX is really the only way to go. I can’t understand how would someone even think of writing something of this importance in word.

    Not ’speaking’ Latex fluently would make you write this in word. Most likely. :)
